Job Description:

Spearheading the JRL Group from the outset J Reddington Ltd have been an industry leading groundwork and concrete frame specialist for over two decades. Building on a proven track record to date, the company is now increasingly being called upon to deliver solutions on large projects in London and the South East. We are looking to recruit a design manager with responsibility for the concrete frame and ground works elements of the JRL Group projects based in Borehamwood.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and manage the structural engineering design from project commencement though to completion
  • Lead technical workshops with relevant consultants and internal supply chain, monitor tasks to ensure they are closed out
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including architecture, geotechnical, façade and MEP
  • Plan and implement innovative solutions contributing to safe systems of work
  • Plan the construction activities and prepare an information release schedule to ensure the timely supply of construction information
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of drawings to comply with project requirements
  • Report any blockers or late information to the relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure designs such as temporary works are code compliant and incorporated with the permanent works
  • Provide technical support during construction, including site inspections and solutions for NCRs
  • Review and comment on specialist subcontractor information where necessary
  • Prepare technical reports and submittals

Requirements:

  • A highly motivated individual looking for a challenging career within the construction industry
  • Some knowledge of concrete frame construction
  • Ability to read engineers structural drawings, architect, façade and MEP drawings
  • Good skills in AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft office
  • Communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Fluent English Language skills are required
  • Be able to work as part of a team or on own initiative when required
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Possess or working towards Civil/Structural Engineering qualification
