Boeing Poland is seeking a Structural and Payload Design Engineer (Associate, Experienced or Senior) level to join the Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) team located in Warsaw, or Rzeszow Poland. The Structural & Payload Design Specialist will be performing design work, co-developing Scope of Work, delivering technical mentoring, supporting project planning, execution and monitoring, and supporting BDS technical leadership. The person in this role will be responsible for Structural & Payload Design technical deliverables, representing and supporting the team during technical reviews, acting as internal checker and approver of technical deliverables.
Job Responsibility:
Supports BDS technical leadership in development of SoW, technical mentoring, project planning, execution and monitoring
Develops, integrates and documents structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design
Develops, maintains and modifies structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle
Performs, integrates analytical and test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
Manages supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals
Develops new design/analysis processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort
Investigates emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements, working under general direction
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals such as aircraft structure, manufacturing processes, cost and schedule drivers, materials and properties, design criteria, configuration control and release processes
Strong understanding and demonstrated experience with reading and interpreting engineering drawings. Solid grasp of GD&T per ASME Y14.5 (2009/2018) utilizing Model-Based Definition (MBD)
3+ years of experience in mechanical and structural design, creating, executing and reviewing, structural design models/drawings. Working conceptual, preliminary and detailed designs including parametric/subtractive modeling 2D drawings and 3D deliverables in Siemens NX CAD/CAM software
3+ years of experience using Siemens Teamcenter Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
Candidates must have current legal authorization to work immediately in Poland
Nice to have:
5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
12 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated experience in leading/mentoring younger engineers
5 + years of experience developing advanced technical ideas and guiding their development into final product
Worked on unusually complex technical problems and provided solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious
3+ years of experience working within cross-functional teams/Integrated Product Team
Seeking Boeing Aerospace experience
A self-starter demonstrating efficient problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Solid communicator and presenter with SRR/PDR/PMR or CDR experience being fluent in both written and spoken English
Experience in project management leadership (planning, cost estimating, monitoring, reporting). EVMS experience a plus
Experience with structural design principles for aircraft primary structures, secondary structures, interior payloads
