Job Description:

We have an immediate opening for a Stretcher Operator at our Brampton Plant. Can Art Aluminum Extrusion is a privately held North American based extruder of standard and custom aluminum profiles. Job Responsibility:

  • Manage the stretcher controls, ensuring that the proper settings are entered so that parts are not over or under stretched
  • Understand the stretcher settings and the impact that each setting has on different materials
  • Prepare any extruded material for the stretching process
  • Detect defects on extruded materials such as stretching and bowing and alert the Press Operator as appropriate
  • Able to use measuring devices such as a square and caliper
  • Assist in other areas on the line, such as packing, as needed
  • Maintain a safe and clean workspace at all times
  • Responsible to follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all Can Art Company Policies

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a machine operator capacity
  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality checks
  • Good problem-solving skills to troubleshoot machine issues
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production targets

Nice to have:

Previous experience in heavy manufacturing is an asset
