Job Description

An opportunity for an Stress Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid). The department is in charge of Airbus Derivatives and Medium and Light Programs (Spain) and Mission Platform Systems (Manching). The team is a multicultural Team and in contact with a multidisciplinary environment, as all the programs requires such a landscape. The jobholder will reinforce our Team, who will take part in the definition and implementation of complex systems in Derivative Programs, with the main focus on the MRTT+ Project.

  • Size structural parts
  • Develop methodologies and analysis to support the certification/qualification of the structure
  • Create the support documentation required

Requirements

  • Educated in an Aeronautical or Industrial Engineering degree or a related discipline
  • At least 5 years of experience in Stress Analysis
  • High adaptability to work on new topics, open minded for innovative solutions and in a network mode
  • Advanced level in English
  • NASTRAN, PATRAN, HYPERMESH, CATIA

  • Understand customer requirements and prepare formal, controlled engineering documentation (i.e. structural analysis reports, specifications, etc.)
  • Prepare and present design review material in support of technical interchange meetings with suppliers and external/internal customers
  • Review designs for preliminary sizing of structural reinforcements and load path definition for structural modifications
  • Support design process from preliminary/conceptual design through critical/detail design
  • Write, Review or Approve structural substantiation reports that meet technical requirements for the program and certifying authorities (TCCA/FAA/EASA)
  • Assess primary structure, secondary structure, and flight test installations from a static strength perspective
  • Perform fatigue and damage tolerance assessments based on customer’s mission profile requirements
  • Perform Material Review Board (MRB) duties in support of operations activities (as required)
