Job Description

We’re looking for a proactive and dedicated Streetworks Technician to help keep Buckinghamshire’s highways safe, compliant and moving. This is a dynamic, hands‑on role where you’ll carry out inspections, ensure permit compliance, and help maintain the quality of our highway network. If you enjoy working outdoors, problem‑solving, and making a real impact on local infrastructure, this could be the perfect next step in your career.

Job Responsibility

  • Carry out streetworks inspections in accordance with legislation and permit requirements
  • Identify and report defects, safety issues and non-compliance
  • Plan and coordinate inspection schedules, adapting to changing priorities
  • Accurately record and process data using relevant systems
  • Work closely with Area Inspectors, the Highways Hub, utility companies and other partners
  • Provide clear, professional advice to colleagues and customers
  • Support the response to incidents or emergencies if required
  • Promote and follow health and safety requirements at all times

Requirements

  • Experience in the utilities and/or local government sector
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Willing to manage issues on the Highway network
  • Represent the service at New Road & Street works Act requirements
