This is an exciting, high-impact opportunity to help shape the course of one of the world’s leading automotive harness suppliers. As a member of the Strategy team, you will work closely with our CEO, his direct reports and senior executives in our business to define, plan, and execute the company's long-term strategic priorities. Topic areas will include: Growth - Identify and execute levers to drive sustained, profitable growth; Diversification - Expand into margin accretive, fast growing end markets outside of Automotive and Commercial Vehicles; Profitability - Identify and execute initiatives to maintain and enhance profitability (e.g. supply chain, vertical integration, footprint, automation, efficiency); Business foundation – Optimizing our global execution capabilities (e.g. human capital, quality & delivery, customer & regional mix, and footprint & efficiency)

Job Responsibility

  • Executing consulting-like projects, working closely with stakeholders in our businesses and corporate functions – including structuring the problem, gathering and analyzing data, generating insight, translating into written output and delivering executive-level readouts and recommendations
  • Developing fact bases and market models around key product segments and technology trends impacting the business inclusive ADAS adoption, electric vehicle penetration, transition to software-defined vehicle architectures, transition to 48V architectures, etcetera
  • Conducting detailed analysis of customers and competitors
  • Shaping and driving content creation for executive leadership in key meetings (e.g. Board of Directors, Investor Meetings, GLT meetings, etcetera)
  • Mentoring and coaching associates

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or related
  • MBA from a top business school preferred
  • Minimum of three years of top-tier consulting experience or comparable, including investment banking, private equity, corporate strategy/development or similar in technology or automotive industries.
  • Diverse experiences in or around automotive and/or manufacturing/industrial goods
  • Experience in leading strategy engagements and developing talent
  • Ability to work onsite in Troy, MI
  • Interest and/or domain expertise in areas relevant for our business (e.g. automotive, wire harnesses)
  • Demonstrated skills in strategic analysis, planning, and problem solving
  • Ability to conduct complex quantitative analyses (e.g. Excel modeling)
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to develop polished visuals (PowerPoint) and communicate effectively with senior audiences
  • Great energy, tenacity, and resourcefulness in tackling challenging problems

  • Underpin growth of BT Consumer by identifying, analysing, evaluating and recommending strategic opportunities in the 2-5 year horizon, with particular attention to the capabilities needed to operationalise and capture value in these areas
  • Participate in dialogues with specific business groups in support of formulating and implementing strategies that will accelerate revenue growth and profitability
  • Lead small projects or workstreams supporting data-driven, objective strategy recommendations, including environment assessment, analytics and/or business case development
  • Develop clear, compelling materials to support decision making on strategic topics, with a clear, concise narrative (excellent storytelling skills)
  • Manage the strategic modelling and analysis to inform and develop BT Consumer strategic plans and operating model, drawing conclusions and making strategic recommendations based on the outputs
  • Present findings to and influence senior stakeholders across BT’s Consumer Division (MDs/CEO)
  • Monitor market, competitor and industry insights to identify new growth areas and their impact on the current strategy
