Job Description:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Strategy & Planning Director to lead high-impact initiatives across wallet capabilities, with focus on Alternative Payment Models (APMs) and Cross-Border (XB) optimization. This strategic leadership role is pivotal in shaping the future of digital payments' ecosystem. The successful candidate will drive alignment across business units, enhance competitive positioning, and fuel growth by delivering market intelligence and actionable insights to senior leadership.

Job Responsibility:

Manage and develop a specialized team of individual contributors focused on payment strategy and planning
Deliver product direction for moderate to high complexity initiatives
Define and execute strategic direction for programs centered on payment innovation and optimization
Make high-impact decisions to resolve complex issues and achieve high-risk deliverables
Interpret, develop, and implement policies and procedures for functions with moderate to high complexity and risk
Collaborate with and influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership
Partner with Finance and Human Resources to ensure resource optimization and cross-functional cohesion
Oversee allocation of personnel and financial resources
Foster a culture of talent development aligned with business objectives
Maximize ROI on Wallet Partner Investments
Assess threats and opportunities from emerging models and capabilities
Grow Cross-Border Volumes and Margins
Deliver Market and Competitive Insights to Leadership

Requirements:

8+ years of Strategy and Planning experience or equivalent experience demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
4+ years of management or leadership experience
8+ years of strategy consulting, market-sizing, and competitive analytics
Proven experience in payments, fintech, or financial services strategy
Exceptional analytical and decision-making skills in complex, high-stakes environments
Executive-level communication skills with strong ability to engage and influence stakeholders
Deep understanding of digital wallet ecosystems and cross-border payment infrastructure
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives across departments
Proven experience successfully influencing senior leadership through data-driven insights and strategic recommendations
Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and staying ahead of market trends
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
