Job Description:

HSBC is looking for a Strategic Sourcing Manager in its Global Procurement team to drive strategic and commercial value for the bank by managing supplier relationships and sourcing initiatives effectively. The role encompasses leadership in procurement processes, contract management, risk assessments, supplier performance, and delivering value while supporting sustainability goals in the supply chain.

Job Responsibility:

Develop and implement sourcing strategies for indirect categories
conduct spend analysis, market intelligence, and benchmarking to identify sourcing and value creation opportunities
manage end-to-end sourcing projects (RFI, RFQ, RFP, e-auctions, negotiations) across multiple indirect categories
lead contract negotiations ensuring favorable terms and alignment with business needs
conduct contractual risk assessments to identify, mitigate, and escalate legal, financial, operational, and compliance risks
align sourcing outcomes with P2P processes for requisition-to-payment execution
support category expertise, supplier engagement, and issue resolution
drive process automation and digital procurement adoption
lead supplier performance and relationship management
conduct third-party risk assessments
produce timely and accurate management information (MI) and reporting
support management oversight, governance, and risk management
mentor and support junior sourcing professionals
drive embedding of best practices and compliance to processes

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field
advanced degree or certification (CIPS, CPSM) preferred
8+ years of experience in indirect procurement with demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation, risk management, and supplier governance
strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, contractual risk management, contract law basics, and P2P processes
proven track record in contract drafting, reviewing, signing oversight, and negotiation of complex agreements
experience producing MI, reports, and dashboards for senior leadership
proficiency with procurement technologies (Coupa, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
knowledge of Power BI is a plus (for reporting and process automation)
knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) processes is a strong plus, particularly in relation to P2P optimization and supplier payments
excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
