We’re seeking a senior procurement manager with strong knowledge of NPI project management in power related components. This is an individual contributor who will be supporting Datacenter Platform Engineering Group teams to consolidate, review, communicate and analyze for delivering the justified, aligned, well-prepared NPI project as part of deliverable to either AMD potential customers or internal AMD core teams for design validation.
Job Responsibility:
Partnered with Engineering to select optimal solutions balancing cost, supply continuity, and scalability
Reviewed and advised on draft component BOMs to prevent EOL, incorrect PN, or industry-unique parts from entering AMD designs
Identified part leverage opportunities with Engineering to optimize cost and sourcing efficiency
Collaborated with Engineering on new tooling requests (e.g., connectors, chipset heatsinks), aligning technical needs with investment strategy
Engaged directly with power vendors to support Engineering’s component studies, reviews, and dummy board population within AMD core teams
Actively participated in all NPI activities, maintaining end-to-end visibility of project status with Engineering
Coordinated NPI sample demand planning with TPM/PjM to ensure timely material availability
Drove material shortage mitigation plans to protect NPI builds and schedules
Accessed and communicated material supply risk, cost impact, and excess exposure resulting from spec and EC changes. Collaborated with CM vendors to reduce excess exposure for each design/production phase
Advanced multi-source readiness in partnership with TPM and CE to reduce single-source risk
Worked with Engineering to define OOC and geo-diversification strategies to strengthen supply resilience
Developed and executed risky-buy strategies supporting both NPI and mass production ramps
Work with TPM and Engineering to establish costed BOMs and clarify NRE assumptions at each NPI milestone
Lead product cost and NRE reviews, bridging gaps and negotiating with power vendors
Prepare budgetary pricing for internal and external stakeholders to support early decision-making
Drive budgetary approval processes to unlock NPI and supplier readiness
Manage POs end-to-end—from creation through delivery
Define business and supply-chain models aligned with platform and CSP requirements
Partner with MPM to review manufacturing fixture needs and capacity plans based on CSP enablement requests
Coordinate vendors deliverables to enable CSP-assigned manufacturing partners
Requirements:
15+ years’ experience in the Server OEM/ODM Manufacturing or Server /System Solution industry
Direct experience in cost management, procurement or supply chain function is a plus
Familiar with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, including but not limited to the ability to analyze data using pivots
Proficiency in English and Bilingual in Mandarin preferred
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field preferred
Proficiency in supply chain principles and skills
Well knowledge in BOM structure of Power related categories
Advanced analytical and communications skills
Strong multitasking and prioritizing skills
Proficiency with Microsoft office applications and advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
Nice to have:
Direct experience in cost management, procurement or supply chain function is a plus
Proficiency in English and Bilingual in Mandarin preferred
