We are seeking a strategic sourcing professional who thrives in ambiguity, can think long term, and has the discipline to deliver near-term results. You will serve as the Global Strategic Sourcing Manager and report to the India Indirect Lead. In this role, you will drive sourcing strategy and execution for Software, with a focus on Data Analytics and AI platforms. This includes developing and executing sourcing roadmaps, designing and leading negotiations, building supplier partnerships, and ensuring Amgen secures the right solutions at the best value while managing risk and enabling innovation. Your responsibilities will center on analyzing internal demand, market dynamics, and supplier capabilities to design sourcing strategies that achieve cost efficiency, supply resilience, and innovation. As a strategic sourcing leader, you will partner closely with business stakeholders to align procurement activities with Amgen’s digital and enterprise-wide priorities.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the end-to-end sourcing strategy for Software and AI/Data Analytics platforms
Drive sourcing initiatives that balance innovation, compliance, governance, and cost efficiency
Design and manage RFPs, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contracting processes
Develop multi-year sourcing roadmaps
Identify and onboard emerging suppliers in analytics, AI, and predictive modeling
Partner with Digital, IT, Data Science, and R&D leaders
Act as a trusted advisor
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration
Ensure sourcing decisions adhere to regulatory, cybersecurity, and privacy requirements
Manage supplier performance through scorecards, SLAs, and business reviews
Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Cybersecurity teams
Leverage spend analytics, benchmarks, and market intelligence
Deliver measurable improvements in cost efficiency, speed to market, and supplier innovation
Support continuous improvement in sourcing processes and tools
Requirements:
Deep expertise in strategic sourcing processes (RFPs, negotiations, supplier evaluations, contracting)
Strong understanding of analytics and AI/ML software procurement, including cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake)
Familiarity with procurement platforms (e.g., Ariba) and ERP/analytics tools
Strong analytical and organizational skills with ability to manage large-scale, complex sourcing projects
Master’s degree and 9+ years of total experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 11+ years of total experience
6+ Years of Sourcing experience
Nice to have:
Experience in software/technology sourcing at a global scale
Financial and legal acumen to navigate complex agreements
Ability to evaluate supplier innovation and align sourcing with future business needs
Understanding of AI ethics, governance, and compliance frameworks
