Job Description

Sourcing Manager I is responsible for the planning and execution of contracting initiatives that result in successful contracts that support the needs of all business sectors of Aramark and Avendra Group. The Manager will develop a plan to conduct the initiative that leverages best practices and sound processes. Also, the role requires judgment to adjust the process to enable creating a successful contract in an efficient manner. Additionally, the Manager will oversee a portfolio of contracts in which they will ensure the supplier meets their contract commitments and that customers’ needs are being met.

Job Responsibility

  • Thoughtfully plan contract initiatives for all facets of the enterprise
  • manages annual plan by creating realistic timelines and meeting milestones, communicates initiative status
  • leads effective supplier negotiation and pricing strategy development efforts which integrates Aramark and the Avendra Group’s principles and value proposition
  • Implements all aspects of client Development teams for initiatives, i.e., identify the correct participants, solicit input at the appropriate times, lead meetings, etc.
  • Lead Business Ownership activity for his/her portfolio of contracts
  • Build and maintain supplier relationships
  • hold suppliers accountable to deliver contractual commitments
  • Collaborate with other internal departments to ensure contracts are delivering maximum potential
  • Leverage internal stakeholder relationships to grow volume and open the door for additional opportunities for strategic supplier partners
  • Collaborate with clients as needed
  • Assist Category Strategy Leaders with development of category strategies in his/her area of responsibility

Requirements

  • General sourcing/procurement experience
  • Knowledge of beverages category or having the ability to develop knowledge of new categories
  • Strategic sourcing experience in food categories is a plus
  • Experience negotiating contracts and understanding of the negotiation process
  • Ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Knowledge of process workflow tools is a plus
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to perform analysis and interpret results into actionable steps
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize several projects at a time
  • Strong attention to detail and process orientation
  • Ability to be assertive
  • At a minimum intermediate Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Intermediate to expert skills in Microsoft Excel
  • 5-15 years of experience in business management with an understanding of procurement, contracting, supply chain optimization and/or category management
  • BS/BA in relevant field or equivalent years' experience with education in supply chain, business, economics, or related field highly desired

  • Strategic sourcing experience in food categories is a plus
  • Knowledge of process workflow tools is a plus

  • Utilize expertise in battery manufacturing processes (e.g., electrode coating, calendaring, winding/stacking, electrolyte filling, formation, aging, pack assembly, welding, BMS integration, safety testing) to assess supplier capabilities, resolve capacity constraints, and validate cost dependencies
  • Support negotiations for purchase agreements, NRE, capacity reservation, and long-term supply contracts to secure optimal terms and ensure supplier accountability for program deliverables across the battery supply base
  • Champion cost reduction programs utilizing should-cost models, raw material indexing (Li, Co, Ni, graphite), and data analytics tailored to cell and pack manufacturing
  • Create and implement contingency plans for scalability challenges, lead times, single-source dependencies, raw material volatility, and geopolitical risks in the battery supply chain
