Job Description

SMS is seeking a highly motivated Sourcing Specialist to join our team and drive operational efficiencies and cost savings. This role will lead initiatives supporting SMS programs in Direct Procurement. The Strategic Purchasing Analyst will ensure adherence to SMS procurement policies, minimize risk, and guarantee that software and hardware are procured through appropriate channels. This position is category-specific, focused fab to print builds, and will also leverage general strategic sourcing knowledge to apply best practices across key areas of spend.

Job Responsibility

  • Implement supply chain strategies to optimize procurement processes and ensure cost-effective sourcing of materials and supplies
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of supply chain strategies
  • Ensure purchase orders are processed accurately and timely
  • Execute RFx processes in alignment with strategic sourcing guidelines
  • Identify and deliver savings opportunities
  • Negotiate prices for materials and delivery from suppliers
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain savings tracking methods and processes
  • Identify procurement compliance requirements and obtain necessary approvals
  • Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain solution
  • Monitor performance of suppliers and assess their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements
  • Collaborate with suppliers to identify innovative solutions and improvements
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 2 or more years of related experience
