UC San Diego’s School of Social Sciences (SoSS) includes a diverse group of outstanding departments, programs, centers, and research units engaged in increasing opportunities for interdisciplinary study and research. Reporting to the Senior Assistant Dean, this position provides senior-level leadership and strategic support for the School of Social Sciences, particularly in advancing revenue generating programs such as the Chancellor’s Educational Innovation (EI) and Dean’s Research Accelerators initiatives. The incumbent leads the exploration, planning, development, and implementation of major school-wide programs, research initiatives, and revenue-generating efforts, while strengthening the School’s research portfolio and external partnerships.
Job Responsibility:
Provides senior-level leadership and strategic support for the School of Social Sciences, particularly in advancing revenue generating programs such as the Chancellor’s Educational Innovation (EI) and Dean’s Research Accelerators initiatives
Leads the exploration, planning, development, and implementation of major school-wide programs, research initiatives, and revenue-generating efforts, while strengthening the School’s research portfolio and external partnerships
Contributes to Dean’s Office initiatives, academic and student affairs strategy, infrastructure building, and long-term planning with School leadership, serving as a technical and strategic leader in revenue generating programs
Identify opportunities and work directly with relevant faculty, campus partners, external partners, and funding agencies to bring proposals to fruition
Responsible for student affairs related initiatives, including leading the School’s Student Affairs Community of Practice (SACOP)
Serving as the data analyst for student affairs metrics, with skills in data analysis, and report writing in enterprise tools and/or data visualization software
Requirements:
