As our next Strategic Planning Manager, you will be at the heart of the company’s most critical decisions, partnering directly with our Senior Director of Strategic Planning, and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to architect the future of our business. You’re an ideal candidate if you thrive in the "gray area," bringing structure to ambiguous problems and bridging different points of view, and if you’re someone with relentless prioritization skills who values outcomes over process and possesses the analytical prowess to turn complex data into a compelling narrative. Whether you are defining our multi-year strategy or identifying the next big growth lever, your work will directly impact the company's trajectory.
Job Responsibility:
Drive "operating rigor" across the organization by aligning cross-functional priorities and ensuring clarity on milestones and KPIs tied to our long-term financial goals
Act as a strategic partner to leadership, providing the structured communication and data-driven insights needed to chart new paths
Define and set targets against operating KPIs, tracking performance, and communicating the drivers behind week-to-week variations
Evaluate the competitive landscape to help define where we play, how we compete, and potential M&A opportunities to pursue
Identify and size new growth opportunities during the planning process, translating bold strategic ideas into tangible, data-backed initiatives
Collaborate cross-functionally to solve high-impact, ambiguous problems that have complex dependencies across different parts of the business
Prepare high-stakes materials for the Board of Directors and investors, distilling complex market dynamics into clear, actionable executive decks
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in management consulting, Strategic Finance, or a highly analytical role within a high-growth environment
Proven ability to lead complex workstreams and influence senior stakeholders without direct authority
Deep industry expertise in Tech, specifically within the SaaS or AI sectors, and a strong understanding of the unique dynamics and KPIs of these markets
Advanced technical proficiency in SQL, Excel/Google Sheets, and Tableau (or similar analytical tools) to extract and manipulate data independently
Exceptional analytical prowess and a "scrappy" mindset—you are comfortable rolling up your sleeves to build a model from scratch or hunt down the data you need
Strong stakeholder management skills, with a demonstrated ability to bridge different perspectives and drive consensus among diverse groups
Residency in the Chicago or Bay Area, or a willingness to be based out of these hubs to collaborate closely with the team
