We are seeking a Strategic Major Projects Lead – Monitoring Europe to support the growth of our Monitoring Division across mainland Europe. This role is focused on identifying, developing, and helping secure major infrastructure opportunities for monitoring services across key European markets, with an initial focus on priority growth areas. This role is ideal for someone with strong infrastructure market knowledge, technical credibility, and the ability to develop relationships across clients, consultants, Tier 1 contractors, and project partners. The successful candidate will help position Murphy Geospatial early in project lifecycles, shape opportunities before procurement, and support the conversion of strategic pursuits into live projects. This is not a traditional regional sales role. It is a front-end growth role centred on major projects, strategic relationship building, market intelligence, and early-stage opportunity development for infrastructure monitoring services.
Job Responsibility:
Identify and develop major infrastructure opportunities for monitoring services across Europe
Build and maintain a forward-looking pipeline of major projects across sectors such as rail, highways, tunnelling, utilities, energy, water, and major urban development
Support the early positioning of Murphy Geospatial’s monitoring capability at pre-tender and pre-procurement stages
Develop strategic pursuit plans for target projects, clients, consultants, contractors, and framework opportunities
Work with divisional leadership to support market-entry strategies, target account plans, and growth priorities across mainland Europe
Help expand Murphy Geospatial’s monitoring presence by leveraging wider group capability and aligning opportunities with strategic business objectives
Identify opportunities early and support qualification of major pursuits
Work closely with bid, technical, operational, and commercial teams to shape solutions aligned with client needs and project risk profiles
Support the preparation of proposals, tender submissions, technical presentations, and pre-contract discussions
Coordinate with internal specialists to ensure opportunities are translated into practical, deliverable, and commercially robust offers
Collaborate across departments to help position bundled, multi-disciplinary solutions where appropriate
Maintain a strong understanding of European infrastructure pipelines, procurement routes, funding drivers, and major capital programmes relevant to monitoring
Track major public and private infrastructure developments and provide insight into target opportunities, competitors, market trends, and likely routes to market
Represent Murphy Geospatial at selected client meetings, industry events, conferences, and forums to strengthen visibility and market credibility
Support internal reporting on pipeline development, activities, and progress against agreed growth priorities
Requirements:
Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in infrastructure, engineering, monitoring, surveying, geotechnical, structural, or technical business development roles
Experience working with or selling into major infrastructure projects, ideally within sectors such as rail, transportation, utilities, energy, water, tunnelling, or civil engineering
Strong understanding of how technical services are specified, positioned, procured, and delivered on large capital programmes
Ability to build relationships with consultants, contractors, asset owners, and project stakeholders across multiple European markets
Experience supporting bids, tenders, frameworks, or strategic pursuits for major projects
Commercial awareness with the ability to identify, shape, and develop opportunities from early engagement through to active pursuit
Knowledge of monitoring, geospatial, surveying, structural, or geotechnical services would be highly advantageous
Fluency in English is essential
Additional European language capability, particularly German, would be advantageous
Willingness and ability to travel across Europe as required for client meetings, site visits, events, and opportunity development
