Job Description

Every child and young person should have equal opportunity, confidence and access when it comes to cycling. Sadly, we’re not there yet. We’re looking for a Strategic Lead to help influence our strategy and drive products in this vital area for British Cycling. You’ll be developing products, influencing strategy and working with a vast array of stakeholders (both internal and external).

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the development of participation products and projects (e.g. City Academies) designed to focus and increase the number of children and young people riding a bike
  • Influence strategic thinking and direction
  • Use data and insight to identify barriers and inform direction
  • Oversee the end-to-end project management of products and projects - from initial concept right through to national launch
  • Work closely with internal teams, external partners, communities and stakeholders to remove barriers (perceived and actual) and deliver products and projects nationwide
  • Champion change and be an advocate for youth voice
  • Monitor progress, impact and share stories that demonstrate success.

Requirements

  • Have a strong understanding of the challenges and inequalities children and young people face in being active
  • You’ll be experienced in developing and managing products and projects focused on children and young people
  • You’ll be experienced in managing budgets and partnerships
  • You’ll have a proven track record of managing projects
  • You’ll be able to communicate well at all levels
  • You’ll have a proven track record of working collaboratively across teams and organisations to deliver shared goals
  • While an understanding of cycling is preferable, it’s more essential that you have a passion for getting more children and young people active.
