Job Description

The role will focus on building a strong understanding of market dynamics, consumer behaviour, category trends, and competitive landscapes across China, Japan, Korea, and India. It will also support the VP of Strategy in identifying organic and inorganic growth opportunities in the region, shaping insight-driven strategy, and supporting innovation by connecting market needs with long-term business ambition. The role will explore the development of high-impact strategic partnerships in technology, academia, innovation and startup ecosystems that can unlock long-term growth opportunities.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop a market insights engine covering consumers, category trends, and competitive landscapes for China, Japan, Korea, and India
  • Track market shifts, competitor innovations, pricing strategies, and distribution changes
  • Produce compelling, executive-ready analysis for senior leadership
  • Build and manage strategic relationships that can support future growth Initiatives
  • Explore ecosystem partnerships and integrations with platforms and device manufacturers
  • Develop collaborations for user behaviour studies, technology R&D, materials research, and product technologies
  • Identify startup or emerging technologies relevant to future product directions
  • Identify whitespace opportunities across markets, categories, channels, and consumer segments
  • Provide insights that can inform new product opportunities, localisation needs, GTM approaches, and portfolio optimisation
  • Support long-range planning and strategic prioritisation
  • Monitor emerging brands, technologies, platforms, and business models that could complement Marshall’s portfolio
  • Conduct preliminary screening of partnership, investment, or acquisition opportunities
  • Provide market intelligence that supports the development of global M&A hypotheses
  • Support the APAC teams in the multi-year GTM strategy development for China, Japan, Korea, and India

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in strategy, market insights, product strategy, or commercial strategy within APAC
  • Strong understanding of at least two priority markets (China, Japan, Korea, India)
  • China experience strongly preferred
  • Proven experience in identifying strategic growth opportunities
  • Ability to build and manage partnerships across technology, academic, startups, and innovation ecosystems
  • Strong analytical and storytelling skills
  • Fluent in English
  • Mandarin preferred
