Job Responsibility:

  • Report the financial planning process for important products and teams
  • including building/maintaining and reviewing operating and financial models
  • Be the primary Finance Business Partner (FBP) with key teams within our Square organization and collaborate across all levels and departments in the organization
  • Support strategic decisions, including projects on pricing design, customer behavior analysis and economics, LTV / Return on investment of marketing efforts, market/competitive landscape benchmarking, and other data-driven analysis
  • Create and/or review analyses that facilitates clear decision-making, mine data from our databases to predict short-term and long-term trends
  • Evaluate our performance
  • report the performance
  • identify any risks or opportunities associated with reported financial data
  • Partner with our Go-to-Market teams (Sales, Marketing, Partnerships etc) on strategy and execution with the aim of increasing the size and efficiency of our acquisition motions
  • Partner with the International Accounting team on transactional and financial close matters to ensure accuracy over financial statement reporting
  • Partner with departments (e.g. Accounting, Business Intelligence and Data Analytics, Sales and Marketing, and others) to report on the financial impact of decisions across the company
  • Prepare analysis and support communication to product leaders, board members and executive staff

Requirements:

  • 10+ years post qualified and relevant industry experience
  • A finance qualification or relevant working experience within strategy finance
  • Fluency in both Japanese and English
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to lead strategic projects and make data-driven recommendations
  • Proactively develop and implement financial strategies to support the growth plans
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Strong financial background
  • deep expertise in financial modelling and analysis and Excel (there will be a case study)
  • Experience with SQL / Hyperion
