Job Description

We are seeking a finance executive to run our Finance & Strategy Go-To-Market organization, partnering with the GTM Lead of Block and their executive team. Reporting to the Head of Strategic Finance for Block, this leader will drive financial strategy, business modeling, and decision support while serving as a trusted advisor to GTM leadership. Leading our function for strategic GTM partnership, you will shape how finance and GTM functions collaborate on Block's most crucial initiatives. Your team will focus on deeply strategic analytical work, from designing and executing acquisition strategies to building frameworks that assess performance across brands, functions, and channels. This role presents a unique opportunity to influence Block's growth, ensuring we make optimal decisions about our investment allocation and strategy that will shape the company's future.

Job Responsibility

  • Serve as the primary strategic finance partner to Block’s GTM lead and the rest of the GTM leadership, building strong relationships and providing sophisticated analysis to drive informed decision-making
  • Drive Block’s investment strategy across GTM functions and channels, building frameworks to measure outputs and success and to assess trade-offs across investment opportunities
  • Lead and execute all of the financial, strategic and planning processes supporting our GTM activities including monthly / quarterly performance reviews, Annual Plan and Long Range Planning activities
  • Develop strategy for pricing, customer acquisition incentives, revenue attainment forecasting, headcount investment, custom pricing management, and sales incentives
  • Manage a high-performing strategic finance team

Requirements

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in strategic finance, with significant experience at an operating company supporting GTM
  • Served as a trusted advisor and partner to senior executives
  • advising on company-level strategy initiatives and investment decisions that have enabled company-wide growth
  • Excellent problem solving skills and a track record of delivering results on corporate wide initiatives
  • The ability to distill complex information into clear problem statements that can be systematically analyzed and communicated
  • frames both approaches and solutions in a way that is actionable for all audiences
  • Comfort working with metrics, building new KPIs and navigating large data sets to find answers to complex problems, with a bias toward automation and AI tool adoption
  • Track record of successful partnership with sales, marketing, account management, and partnerships organizations
  • Ability navigating ambiguous workstreams and build processes from scratch
  • Managed and scaled finance organizations, including building and maintaining a high-performing team through hiring and coaching
