Job Description

Fivetran is seeking a Strategic Finance Analyst to join our Finance & Strategy team, reporting to the Director of Strategic Finance. This is a broad, high-impact role for someone who wants to sit at the center of how we allocate capital, evaluate product and R&D investments, and play a key role in long-term strategic planning across the company. You’ll work at the intersection of product-level economics, long-range planning, and corporate finance. You will partner closely with leaders across Product, Engineering, GTM, and Finance to build compelling financial frameworks and deliver executive-ready insights that drive decisions. This is a high-impact opportunity for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys solving complex problems, and wants exposure to executive-level decision-making as Fivetran continues to scale towards IPO.

Job Responsibility

  • Build and own financial models to evaluate new product initiatives and R&D investments
  • Develop and operationalize an R&D ROI framework to evaluate new product initiatives and roadmap tradeoffs
  • Create repeatable financial frameworks to support disciplined capital allocation across headcount and non-headcount spend
  • Support long-range strategic planning (LRP), scenario modeling, and forecasting for strategic initiatives and investment priorities
  • Support capital planning through analyses that connect investment decisions to return profiles, capacity constraints, and strategic priorities
  • Support corporate development work as needed and help drive M&A integration from a finance and value-realization perspective
  • Develop structured analyses and materials that support executive, board- and investor-level discussions
  • Identify and implement opportunities to leverage AI-enabled tools to increase analytical leverage and improve finance workflow

Requirements

  • 3–4 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, private equity, strategic finance, or FP&A at a high-growth technology company
  • Strong financial modeling skills, including building driver-based models and scenario analyses from scratch
  • Ability to bring clarity and structure to ambiguous problems and distill insights into actionable recommendations
  • Communicate clearly and concisely with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail

Nice to have

  • Solid understanding of SaaS metrics (ARR, NRR, CAC, LTV, contribution margin)
  • Experience supporting product, R&D, or investment analysis
  • Strong interest in practical use of AI tools and experience creating agents with Claude Code or ChatGPT (Codex)
  • Exposure to planning systems such as Pigment, Anaplan, Adaptive or BI/Data tools (Looker, SQL)

What we offer

  • 100% employer-paid medical insurance
  • Generous paid time-off policy (PTO), plus paid sick time, inclusive parental leave policy, holidays, and volunteer days off
  • RSU stock grants
  • Professional development and training opportunities
  • Company virtual happy hours, free food, and fun team-building activities
  • Monthly cell phone stipend
  • Access to an innovative mental health support platform that offers personalized care and resources in areas such as: therapy, coaching, and self-guided mindfulness exercises for all covered employees and their covered dependents
