At Lam, as a Strategic Commodity Manager, you play a crucial role in managing industry suppliers. You’ll develop and implement commodity strategies, align development deliverables, benchmark suppliers, negotiate agreements, and resolve delivery, cost, and production challenges. Navigating a highly visible and dynamic environment, your strategic expertise in implementing initiatives will support commodity availability, quality, and cost to maintain Lam's reliability and competitive edge.

Job Responsibility:

  • Develop, align and implement commodity strategy
  • Understand commodity landscape to forecast industry trends and gauge emerging competitive forces
  • Negotiate, manage and maintain supplier agreements that provide optimal terms
  • Direct new supplier engagement and/or disengagement requirements to the Lam supply base
  • Collaborate across the Lam organization to ensure business objectives are met
  • Identify potential supply issues and communicate findings to senior leaders
  • Drive resolution of systemic supply chain issues affecting cost, delivery, quality, service and development support
  • Optimize supply chain/supplier performance through cost, capacity scenario analysis and benchmarking
  • Develop and present high-level cost savings opportunities
  • Drive formal supplier performance reviews
  • Assess and mitigate supply chain risks to Lam business
  • Assess supplier continuity plans and align to Lam business needs
  • Manage supply chain disruptions in real time with support from Lam Global Operation

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a technical field (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering) with 15 years of related experience
  • or 12 years and a Master's degree
  • or 8 years with a PhD
  • 12-15 years of experience in a Supply Chain, Operations, or production/planning environment
  • Preferably in Semiconductor industry
  • Ability to understand technical documents (i.e., specifications/schematics/drawings) and function within semiconductor manufacturing tools
  • Exceptional interpersonal relationship skills and professional level of emotional intelligence
  • Proven experience of strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent analytical and written/oral communication skills with ability to communicate cross functionally and with various levels of the organization, including executives
