At Lam, as a Strategic Commodity Manager, you play a crucial role in managing industry suppliers. You’ll develop and implement commodity strategies, align development deliverables, benchmark suppliers, negotiate agreements, and resolve delivery, cost, and production challenges. Navigating a highly visible and dynamic environment, your strategic expertise in implementing initiatives will support commodity availability, quality, and cost to maintain Lam's reliability and competitive edge.
Job Responsibility:
Develop, align and implement commodity strategy
Understand commodity landscape to forecast industry trends and gauge emerging competitive forces
Negotiate, manage and maintain supplier agreements that provide optimal terms
Direct new supplier engagement and/or disengagement requirements to the Lam supply base
Collaborate across the Lam organization to ensure business objectives are met
Identify potential supply issues and communicate findings to senior leaders
Drive resolution of systemic supply chain issues affecting cost, delivery, quality, service and development support
Optimize supply chain/supplier performance through cost, capacity scenario analysis and benchmarking
Develop and present high-level cost savings opportunities
Drive formal supplier performance reviews
Assess and mitigate supply chain risks to Lam business
Assess supplier continuity plans and align to Lam business needs
Manage supply chain disruptions in real time with support from Lam Global Operation
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business or a technical field (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering) with 15 years of related experience
or 12 years and a Master's degree
or 8 years with a PhD
12-15 years of experience in a Supply Chain, Operations, or production/planning environment
Preferably in Semiconductor industry
Ability to understand technical documents (i.e., specifications/schematics/drawings) and function within semiconductor manufacturing tools
Exceptional interpersonal relationship skills and professional level of emotional intelligence
Proven experience of strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent analytical and written/oral communication skills with ability to communicate cross functionally and with various levels of the organization, including executives
