At Lam, as a Strategic Commodity Manager, you play a crucial role in managing industry suppliers. You’ll develop and implement commodity strategies, align development deliverables, benchmark suppliers, negotiate agreements, and resolve delivery, cost, and production challenges. Navigating a highly visible and dynamic environment, your strategic expertise in implementing initiatives will support commodity availability, quality, and cost to maintain Lam's reliability and competitive edge.
Job Responsibility:
Manage suppliers and a team of Strategic Commodity Managers in the Metal Machining and Plastics Fabrication commodity with core responsibility to ensure products are delivered per plan
Develop a 3-year vision and strategy for assigned commodities
Work across the organization to formulate and execute the strategies, align development deliverables, negotiate pricing and contracts and agreements, benchmark suppliers, and resolve delivery, cost, and production challenges
Manage supplier relationships, cost, lead sourcing decisions, plan adequate capacity, evaluate performance and manage commodity risks
Benchmark, develop, implement, and improve supply chain processes and infrastructure to support quality, scalability, and supply continuity
Work collaboratively with cross functional team and internal stakeholders in development of local and regional suppliers
Domestic and international travel will be required
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or Business
MBA or post graduate degree in Supply Chain Management
Ten (10) years of working experience in Supply Chain, Operations, or production environment, preferably in Semiconductor industry
Creative thinking and strong problem-solving capabilities
Solid analytical and written/oral communication skills with ability to communicate cross-functionally and with various levels of the organization including Executives
Has worked in a leadership role within a global matrix managed multi-site company with manufacturing and supplier operations spread over multiple continents and at least $1 billion in revenue
Has extensive experience interfacing with customers and suppliers and managing these relationships, knowledge of supply chain management business processes
Demonstrate proactive leadership in identifying problems, potential risks and mitigating those in advance of a critical situation
Working knowledge of the machine shop or job shop operations, processes, and experience managing high mix/low volume products
Proven ability to gain partnerships and excel working and leading in a cross-functional environment with new product introduction, manufacturing, quality and reliability engineers as well as procurement, finance, and product support
