Job Description:

Wells Fargo is seeking an Associate Strategic Investment Specialist for our Strategic Capital team. This role involves working on private capital opportunities, direct lending business, and third-party capital advisory engagements within the commercial banking division.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist in identifying new private capital opportunities for direct investing/lending business and third party capital advisory engagements
  • Analyze new and existing investment opportunities
  • Prepare investment committee materials and present opportunities to senior management
  • Work with senior private capital specialists to assess new investment opportunities
  • Develop investor evaluation materials for capital advisory assignments
  • Manage investor outreach process logistics
  • Develop financial models related to assigned new opportunities
  • Complete due diligence requests, legal entity work, execution/closing processes
  • Participate in evaluation and ongoing monitoring of investments and loans
  • Develop internal network contacts across commercial banking footprint and external financial intermediaries
  • Mentor and train less experienced staff

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in strategic investment management, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 2+ years work experience in leveraged finance, capital markets, private capital, private equity, investment banking coverage or equivalent experience
  • Financial Modeling experience
  • Financial Analysis experience
  • Advanced in Microsoft Office Suite-Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and organization, and ability to solve complex or abstract problems
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business or related field

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with evaluating and executing transactions related to both the private and traditional institutional markets
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong integrity, work ethic, and a team player
  • High level of initiative and accountability
