Job Description:

The Strategic Buyer is responsible for the strategic alignment, development, and cost optimization of assigned product groups in orthopaedics, trauma, and sports medicine. The role drives supplier and product portfolio strategy, ensuring compliance, quality, and cost efficiency while collaborating closely with clinical stakeholders and external partners.

Job Responsibility:

  • Define and implement product group strategy in alignment with clinical and regulatory requirements
  • Lead supplier negotiations, contract management, and annual performance reviews
  • Optimize supplier and product portfolio based on KPIs and cost targets
  • Coordinate with clinical networks and procurement alliances for strategy and pricing
  • Manage projects for portfolio development and digitalization of procurement processes
  • Ensure compliance with Swiss Therapeutic Products Act and Medical Devices Ordinance
  • Monitor market trends and evaluate new products and suppliers

Requirements:

  • Hospital procurement or senior role in medical device industry
  • strong knowledge of orthopaedics
  • Prior exposure into Swiss hospital market and regulatory environment
  • Strong process and systems understanding
  • SAP MM (strong nice-to-have) and advanced Excel
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Project management experience
  • Strong communication and collaboration with clinical users
  • Analytical mindset and ability to drive cost optimization
  • Languages: English German and/or French
