Job Description

The Manager, Strategic Alignment & Growth Narrative plays a key role in supporting Collegiate Hospitality’s growth objectives by partnering with Directors of Business Development (DBDs), Directors of Strategic Partnerships (DSPs), and Growth Leadership to develop differentiated Proposal strategies and compelling client narratives. This role focuses on aligning client priorities with Collegiate Hospitality’s strategic capabilities and brand positioning to strengthen opportunities for new partnerships and contract extensions. Working early in the pursuit lifecycle, the Manager helps shape messaging frameworks, positioning strategies, and narrative themes that guide proposals, presentations, and client engagement materials. The position emphasizes strategic pursuit alignment, competitive positioning, and growth storytelling that support the organization’s long-term sales and retention goals.

Job Responsibility

  • Partner with Directors of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships to analyze institutional priorities and develop strategic positioning for prospective and existing client opportunities
  • Support early-stage opportunity development by identifying key messaging themes that align Collegiate Hospitality capabilities with client strategic goals
  • Collaborate with Growth leadership to strengthen Proposal strategies supporting both new business development and contract retention initiatives
  • Develop and refine Proposal narratives that communicate Collegiate Hospitality’s value proposition in a clear and differentiated manner
  • Align storytelling across proposals, executive summaries, and client presentations to ensure consistency with strategic positioning
  • Translate complex operational and service offerings into clear, compelling messaging for institutional decision-makers
  • Partner with Marketing, Culinary, Operations, Finance, and other subject matter experts to integrate functional expertise into Proposal messaging and client narratives
  • Guide contributors on messaging direction and narrative alignment to ensure cohesive positioning across materials
  • Support collaboration between Growth leadership and internal teams to strengthen overall Proposal effectiveness
  • Monitor competitor positioning and industry trends to identify opportunities to strengthen Collegiate Hospitality’s differentiation in the marketplace
  • Provide insights to Growth leadership regarding messaging strategies that help address client priorities and market challenges
  • Lead the development and management of pursuit timelines, proactively communicating progress, reinforcing accountability to key milestones, and ensuring timely delivery of work aligned with established response and turnaround expectations
  • Own narrative integrity across RFP responses by reviewing and refining content to ensure strategic alignment, consistent voice, and cohesive messaging across multiple authors and functional contributors
  • Assist in shaping executive-level content for finalist presentations and client engagements
  • Ensure Proposal messaging remains aligned with Collegiate Hospitality brand standards and strategic objectives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing strategy, business development support, pursuit strategy, or strategic communications
  • Experience collaborating with sales or growth teams in support of complex service or consulting solutions
  • Strong analytical and storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex information into clear messaging
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders to support strategic initiatives
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Higher education, hospitality, or multi-site services industry experience preferred
  • Strategic thinker with a strong understanding of growth and client engagement objectives
  • Effective collaborator capable of influencing messaging and positioning across diverse stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into compelling narratives
  • High level of accountability and ability to manage multiple strategic initiatives simultaneously
