The Railing Strategic Account Manager plays a critical role in driving revenue growth and strengthening customer relationships in the railing systems market. This position focuses on promoting railing solutions—both stand-alone and complementary to Fortune Brands Outdoors products—that meet customer needs across channels and at the end-user level.
Job Responsibility:
Identify and develop new business opportunities within the railing systems segment, targeting builders, property managers, contractors, distributors, and dealers
Drive revenue growth by promoting railing solutions that enhance outdoor living spaces and align with customer preferences
Lead sales initiatives to ensure alignment with company objectives, growth strategies, and market positioning for railing systems
Provide market intelligence on trends in outdoor living, railing design, and competitive products to inform sales forecasts, strategic planning, and new product development
Monitor competitor activity and gather actionable insights to maintain a competitive edge in railing systems
Manage key distributor and dealer partnerships to expand market reach and increase sales of railing products, while unlocking potential for regions to drive railing in their markets
Create and utilize sales tools and collateral during customer interactions
collaborate with sales leadership to set and achieve sales objectives
Develop and execute sales plans tailored to railing systems, ensuring channel performance and continuous improvement
Coach and provide feedback to the sales team to maximize engagement, product knowledge, and performance in the railing category
Requirements:
4+ years of outside sales experience in the building materials industry, particularly in contractor and builder sales through distribution and lumberyards
Experience with pull-through selling, influencing product selection at the contractor and builder level
Valid state-issued driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to demonstrate products and deliver messages clearly to diverse audiences
Ability to travel up to 50%, including overnight requirements
Ability to train and support internal teams to successfully execute key strategies
Nice to have:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
Previous CRM experience and/or professional sales training
