Job Description:

Stormwater Group Manager role in the Transportation division, delivering engineering solutions for roadways, bridges, airports, stormwater infrastructure, and parks/recreation projects primarily for state and local agencies and municipalities.

Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible for stormwater management functions including drainage facility design, drainage planning studies, stormwater asset management, and data collection
  • Manage a team of drainage professionals, recruit and train new employees
  • Monitor productivity and professional development, and provide technical guidance to improve performance
  • Accountable for the success of your group
  • Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for the department
  • Provide project oversight and monitor scope, schedule, and budget for drainage tasks
  • Lead proposals and projects, and work with the marketing team to respond to large, complex proposals
  • Manage discipline budgets
  • Manage the preparation of studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a wide variety of transportation projects
  • Interface with clients including state and local agencies, and coordinate and conduct meetings with project stakeholders
  • Continue to learn and grow while also developing, sharing, and educating our staff in engineering best practices, knowledge, and tools

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or a related field
  • At least 10 years of experience in water resources engineering, stormwater management design, management and business development
  • Licensed professional engineer
  • CFM and/or CPESC – highly preferred or able to obtain in the future
  • Experienced in the principles and practices of design and inspection related to stormwater systems, roadway design, construction, and public works projects
  • Strong technical background and expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, design, and analysis
  • High level of analytical ability to identify, develop, and provide solutions to complex issues
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality water resources projects on time and within budget
  • Proficient with hydrologic and hydraulic software
  • Knowledgeable with Microstation, Bentley Open Roads, and AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Positive attitude
  • Strong communicator
  • Exceptional presentation skills
  • Proven ability to mentor and lead a team
