Job Description:

The Storesperson position is located in Meaford at the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre and typically reports directly to the Stores Supervisor. The primary duties of a Storesperson are to work in the main warehouse securing and accounting for various items of clothing and equipment; including issuing and exchanging items and completing stock checks and counts.

Job Responsibility:

  • Receiving as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • ensuring items are adequate
  • Pick items to be issued, transmit issues, notifying customers and liaison with Inventory Control
  • Review stock inventory and quality
  • Issue clean and serviceable stock
  • Respond to customer requests
  • Assist customer with the loading of bulky stock
  • Process receipts, exchanges, returns
  • Accept stock returned
  • confirming serviceability of items or initiating repairs
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Follows all Health and Safety requirements including wearing all mandatory personal protective equipment and participating the any Health and Safety training that is required

  • 2 or more years’ experience in the following would be considered an asset: SAP experience

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal direction
  • Must possess serviceable steel toe safety boots that meet standards for workplace safety
  • Must be able to achieve and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance
  • Must be able to achieve and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance- continuous residency in Canada for the last 10 years is a mandatory requirement.
