Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and organised Stores Supervisor/Tool Fitter to start their story with us, supporting our Plant Services team from our Birmingham Depot. We are looking for someone who embodies our values of being hard-working, grounded and proud of the work they do.

Job Responsibility:

  • Ensure the safe, efficient and profitable supply and hire of small plant, tools and consumables
  • Manage stock levels
  • Respond to site and client requirements
  • Ensure all equipment is certified, fit for purpose and fully compliant with statutory safety and testing standards
  • Oversee hire and return processes
  • Manage quarantine and servicing priorities
  • Issue consumables and PPE
  • Maintain accurate records for audit and HSE purposes
  • Maintain high standards across stores, yard and quarantine areas
  • Promote HSQE compliance
  • Develop customer relationships
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and efficiency

Requirements:

  • Experience within the tool hire industry and associated working practices
  • Proven supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of safety, equipment assurance and testing legislation
  • Good working knowledge of construction and rail environments
  • Excellent organisation, time management and attention to detail
  • Strong customer focus with effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • IT confidence using MS Office, Outlook and plant hire systems
  • A process-driven mindset, with knowledge of Lean / 5S principles
  • A positive, proactive 'can-do' attitude
