Step into a key leadership position where you will take full, end-to-end ownership of high-impact technical and customer facing transformation projects within our Stores Delivery portfolio. This pivotal role requires an expert focus on successful project delivery, critical stakeholder engagement, and effective change management. In this fast-paced, customer-facing role, you will have the immediate satisfaction of seeing your implemented projects come to life in our stores.

Job Responsibility

  • Driving Project Success: Lead cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional outcomes, expertly crafting and executing comprehensive project plans from inception to completion
  • Strategic Scope Management: Define project scope through dynamic workshops, optimize delivery schedules, and proactively manage critical risks and dependencies
  • Command and Control: Master project success by maintaining astute financial management, precise scheduling, and proactive risk control throughout the project lifecycle
  • Problem Resolution: Act as the ultimate solution-finder, proactively identifying, tracking, and resolving complex project issues to ensure continuous progress
  • Quality & Leadership: Inspire your teams to deliver all project deliverables on time and to the highest quality standards, and aligned to Woolworths governance frameworks and guardrails
  • Stakeholder Management: Manage and influence key stakeholder relationships to achieve project outcomes

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in project management methodologies including Agile, Waterfall delivery etc, to expertly guide complex, multi-vendor IT projects through every lifecycle phase
  • A seasoned leadership and exceptional communication skills required to manage and influence customer relationships across all levels of the organisation and lead diverse, cross-functional teams
  • An independent forward thinker in their domain who can proactively manage outcomes
  • Strong business sense and commercial acumen, with experience managing the full scope of vendor management, including RFP, legal, and procurement processes
  • Proven history of delivering large-scale, enterprise-level technical projects and managing significant technical and process change
  • An ability to juggle and prioritize multiple, conflicting demands, proactively managing dependencies to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Ability to understand and manage project finances including business case creation, monthly forecast/ actuals, purchase orders, and invoice reconciliation

  • Defines projects, working with business managers and SMEs determining project business case, objectives, risks, and scope
  • Propose technical strategies and provide technical assistance to business unit(s)
  • Analyzes economics of each project where appropriate and calculates ROI for proposed projects
  • Prepare and present project charters and AFE estimates for funding and approval to proceed
  • Build, manage and motivate cross-functional project teams composed of internal and external resources through the lifespan of each project
