As a Stores Operative, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of materials and stock within our manufacturing facility. You will play a key role in the goods-in process, stock control activities, material allocation and internal logistics, ensuring production teams have the resources they need to meet customer demand. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will contribute to maintaining high standards of organisation, accuracy, safety and efficiency across the Stores function.
Job Responsibility
Receiving, checking and booking in deliveries of raw materials, components and consumables
Ensuring stock records are maintained accurately within the company ERP system
Issuing and allocating stock materials, fixtures and fittings to production departments in a timely manner
Maintaining organised storage locations and ensuring stock is stored safely and efficiently
Supporting stock control activities, including cycle counts and annual stock takes
Moving materials and products between production areas using appropriate handling equipment
Assisting with the management and replenishment of packing materials and consumables
Supporting the packing and despatch team during busy periods when required
Identifying and reporting stock discrepancies, shortages or damaged goods
Maintaining high standards of housekeeping within the stores and warehouse areas
Following all company procedures, health and safety requirements, and relevant SOPs
Requirements
Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, logistics or materials handling environment
Computer literate with good IT skills
experience using ERP or stock management systems preferred
Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling stock and inventory records
Team player with good communication skills and the ability to work across multiple departments
Physically fit, as the role involves regular lifting and movement of materials
Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
Nice to have
Forklift Truck Licence (training may be available for the right candidate)
Experience working within a manufacturing environment
Experience operating within an ISO9001 quality management system
Knowledge of stock control and inventory management processes
