Job Description:

The Store Manager is responsible for the sales, profitability, appearance, and overall operations of the store. The position objectives are to show consistent sales growth, ensure store exemplifies the proper O’Reilly image, operates as a profit center, and follows policies and procedures to ensure the store is operating as economically and efficiently as possible.

Job Responsibility:

  • Responsible for the sales, profitability, appearance, and overall operations of the store
  • Maximize sales by directing team members to provide prompt, courteous, and professional service
  • Solicit orders, sell company products, and represent the company
  • Maintain customer base, increase sales volume, review customer needs
  • Communicate and coordinate sales call efforts with the Territory Sales Manager
  • Supervise work performed by all store team members
  • Recruit, test, hire, evaluate, promote, discipline, and discharge team members
  • Utilize Scheduling & Timekeeping recommendations to develop and post work schedules
  • Review team member timecards for clocking accuracy
  • Ensure all store team members improve their skills through company training
  • Work with Sales and Pricing Departments in establishing pricing levels
  • Maximize gross profit on outside purchases
  • Monitor non-competitive price overrides and price matches
  • Ensure the store is organized and operating according to all company policies and procedures
  • Communicate new company information to team members
  • Implement planogram changes and merchandising plans
  • Provide accurate and timely stock adjustment recaps
  • Accurately handle all daily store accounting functions
  • Monitor all charge accounts and past due situations
  • Monitor susceptible areas and implement loss prevention procedures
  • Ensure store vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and inspections are completed
  • Report property/building needs
  • Attend the Annual Managers' Conference

Requirements:

  • Sales Specialist Training
  • Assistant Manager Certification
  • Manager Development Program module
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be well organized with the ability to prioritize effectively and manage time efficiently
  • Knowledge of automotive parts, equipment, and systems

Nice to have:

  • Certified Parts Professional Certification
  • ASE certification
  • Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
