Job Description

Step into leadership at JD Sports! As Associate Manager, you'll support your team, grow your skills, and shape amazing customer experiences while building your path to Store Manager. This role offers a structured 12-18 month development pathway, preparing you to step confidently into a Upper Management position with development support from experienced QLD leadership in a competitive metro trading environment. As a Store Manager in Training, you will partner with the Store Manager to drive commercial performance, operational excellence and team capability. This is more than a support role you will take ownership of key trading outcomes, lead teams on the floor and in Back of House, and build the capability required to manage your own store.

Job Responsibility

  • Partner with your Store Manager to deliver sales, wage and profitability targets
  • Analyse trading reports to identify opportunities to improve conversion, ATV and UPT
  • Support stock optimisation and loss prevention strategies
  • Drive disciplined roster management aligned to productivity
  • Lead, coach and develop team members to deliver strong individual and store performance
  • Role model JD leadership behaviours and premium service standards
  • Support succession development and identify emerging talent
  • Ensure Back of House and sales floor execution is structured and efficient
  • Protect brand and visual merchandising standards in high-traffic environments
  • Support safe and compliant store operations

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years retail leadership experience, ideally in high-volume or flagship environments
  • Proven track record of driving and exceeding KPIs
  • Experience managing rosters and wage control
  • Comfortable analysing financial reports and trading data
  • Strong coach with the ability to motivate and hold teams accountable
  • Resilient and confident in fast-paced trading environments
  • Ambitious and motivated to progress into a Store Manager role
