Job Description:

The Store Food Operations Leader oversees the IKEA Food department's daily operations, ensuring a high-quality customer experience while maintaining compliance with food safety regulations, motivating the team, and collaborating with other departments to achieve business goals.

Job Responsibility:

  • Leading and motivating the team of employees in the IKEA Food department
  • Organizing and overseeing daily operations (restaurant, bistro, staff canteen, kitchen)
  • Ensuring an excellent customer experience in line with IKEA values and food safety regulations
  • Planning and optimizing work schedules while ensuring the right support for the team
  • Monitoring sales performance and implementing activities to achieve set goals
  • Ensuring proper product presentation and effective stock management
  • Onboarding new employees and conducting regular training sessions with a focus on food safety, quality, and work efficiency
  • Actively collaborating with other departments (e.g., logistics, purchasing, marketing) to successfully execute promotions and campaigns
  • Handling customer requests and complaints professionally
  • Implementing safety and hygiene standards and ensuring compliance with legislation

Requirements:

  • Experience in leading a team in hospitality, grocery retail, or a similar field
  • Good understanding of operations in a high-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to motivate and develop employees and to foster a positive work culture
  • Capability to make quick decisions and solve problems under pressure
  • Knowledge of food safety standards
  • Customer-oriented with strong team leadership and work process organization skills
  • Excellent knowledge of the Slovenian language and basic to advanced knowledge of English
  • Willingness to work flexible hours (shift work, work on Saturdays)
