Job Description:

IKEA Oxford Street are looking to welcome a Store Assistant to the store team! Do you perform well in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same? Join our team at the newly opened Oxford Street store, where you'll play a key role in creating a memorable shopping experience for our customers. This role is all about helping our customers access our products. A main responsibility of this role is assembling IKEA furniture to support with promotional launches and selling solutions. Job Responsibility:

  • You provide an inspirational shopping experience for our customers working across various departments throughout the day, supporting customers to find the best solutions for their life at home
  • you are interested in the range, curious to learn the stories behind the products and their design, keen to share this with our customers
  • you support enhancing sales by ensuring your areas of responsibility are clean, fully stocked, all products priced, well presented and easy to shop
  • some products may involve heavy lifting
  • a primary focus of your role will be building furniture for the commercial activities department, supporting with promotional launches and selling solutions.

Requirements:

  • Retail sales experience with a solid background in retail foundations, sales and customer service is preferred, but not essential
  • prior experience in furniture assembly—whether in a personal or professional capacity—would be advantageous for this role
  • a positive approach, enjoy handling various tasks, and are motivated to be part of the team and can work without supervision
  • a customer first mindset and enjoy the versatility of working in a different area each day, making the customer feel valued and supported in everything you do
  • computer literacy skills and are able to work with technology
  • you can prioritise and organise your own work to make efficient use of the time available, with great attention to detail.

Nice to have:

Prior experience in furniture assembly—whether in a personal or professional capacity—would be advantageous for this role.
