Lead the organization driving strategy and architecture for Compute Server Storage Architecture. Deliver the Server Storage Architecture strategy for Future HPE Compute servers. Unique mastery and recognized authority on relevant subject matter knowledge including technologies, theories and techniques. Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas. Successfully operates in the most complex disciplines, in which the company must operate to be successful. Provides highly innovative solutions. Job Responsibility:
Lead the organization driving strategy and architecture for Compute Server Storage Architecture
Deliver the Server Storage Architecture strategy for Future HPE Compute servers
Identify the likely Storage (HDD and SSD) technologies to be offered with Compute servers
Recommend the types and quantities of Storage Options that customers will need to support their workloads
Influence form factors, chassis size, interfaces supported, device form factors supported, numbers of lanes, thermals/power, and manageability support
Strive for best solutions that achieve support for the likely Options portfolio, balancing flexibility and cost
Actively participates and drives new technologies into industry standards, technical conferences, and other forums to influence the industry to align with HPE priorities
Research and evaluate emerging drive and storage technologies and industry trends to gain a comprehensive understanding of the market and technologies
Serve as a trusted SME for customers, Product and Senior Management, Cross-BU technical leaders, and other stakeholders within the company
Develop and maintain close technical relationships with key stakeholders at technology supplier partners to influence their long-term roadmaps to align with HPE priorities
Work closely with platform firmware, hardware, and storage controller R&D teams to influence platform system architecture and design to be optimized for new storage technologies, form factors, and interfaces
Track and influence industry storage trends and how they may interact with other technologies, e.g., storage controllers, CXL, GPUs
Evaluate new technologies for alignment to architecture requirements and standards
integrates innovations into overall architecture and leads server storage platform architecture
Leverages recognized domain expertise, business acumen, and experience to influence decisions of executive business leadership, development partners, and industry standards groups
Provides guidance and mentoring to other staff members
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
Typically 10+ years experience
Minimum 7 years experience in the server storage or storage industry
Experience in overall architecture of computer hardware for products and solutions
Extensive experience with Server Storage and Drives (HDD and SSD)
Experience driving efforts in Industry Standards groups, e.g., OCP, SNIA, TCG, JEDEC
Deep knowledge of server storage architecture, HDDs, SSDs, EDSFF, SED and FIPS, and storage protocols (SAS/SATA/NVMe/CXL)
Creatively innovative with a proven implementation track record
Excellent communication skills with small and large groups, senior management, technologist, and external partners
Must be able to think strategically about the big picture while also knowing technical details
Excellent communication skills and ability to build people networks
Outstanding written communication skills including PowerPoint
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at business unit and executive levels

Understanding of internal drive architecture (NAND, controllers, magnetic media, heads, etc.)
