Job Description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Storage Design Engineer, Sr to support a company focused on delivering enterprise IT and cybersecurity services for the Marine Corps and Department of the Navy. This position is on-site at Quantico, VA. The Storage Design Engineer, Sr will design, implement, and optimize enterprise storage solutions across mission-critical environments supporting MCEN and cyber operations. Join a long-standing, secure program (SMIT/NGEN) with impact across national defense infrastructure.

Job Responsibility

  • Design, implement, and maintain SAN/NAS storage environments leveraging NetApp and EMC technologies
  • Perform capacity planning, performance analysis, and workload forecasting across enterprise systems
  • Configure and support high availability and disaster recovery solutions (SnapMirror, replication, backups)
  • Integrate storage systems with virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V) and enterprise applications (SQL, Exchange, DFS)
  • Execute system upgrades, firmware updates, storage lifecycle management, and security configurations

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in storage engineering, capacity planning, and performance management
  • Strong experience with NetApp technologies (ONTAP 8.x/9.x, SnapCenter, SnapMirror, ONTAP CLI, System Manager)
  • Hands-on experience with SAN/NAS technologies (iSCSI, NFS, CIFS, LUNs, FlexVols, Fiber Channel)
  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Active Secret Security Clearance and SecurityX (CASP+) Certification required
