Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Storage and Backup Specialist to join our dynamic IT Storage and Backup team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with NetApp and NetBackup technologies (Nasuni and Rubrik also desired), as well as basic understanding of UNIX, DNS, AD, ACLs. This role involves managing, maintaining, and optimizing our storage and backup infrastructure to ensure data integrity, availability, and security. Responsible for managing and maintaining an organization's data storage systems, ensuring data security, integrity, and optimal capacity utilization by deploying, configuring, and monitoring storage hardware and software, while providing technical support to end-users regarding data access and storage related issues

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage and support enterprise storage and backup systems, including NetApp, Nasuni, Rubrik, and NetBackup
  • Perform regular maintenance, upgrades, and patch management for storage and backup systems
  • Monitor storage and backup performance, identify issues, and implement necessary improvements
  • Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex storage and backup issues, providing L4 support to the IT team
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement storage solutions that meet business needs
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and best practices
  • Conduct capacity planning and performance analysis to optimize storage and backup resources. Monitoring storage usage, forecasting future needs, and proactively managing storage capacity to avoid data overflow
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement
  • Deploying, configuring, and maintaining storage area networks (SANs), network-attached storage (NAS), and other storage devices
  • Implementing and maintaining data backup and recovery strategies to ensure data resilience in case of system failures
  • Analyzing storage system performance metrics and identifying bottlenecks to optimize data access speeds
  • Diagnosing and resolving storage related issues, providing technical support to users experiencing storage problems
  • Implementing and enforcing security policies on storage systems to protect sensitive data
  • Maintaining comprehensive documentation of storage configurations and procedures, generating reports on storage usage and health

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT storage and backup administration
  • Team player and able to work with people well
  • In-depth knowledge of NetApp and NetBackup technologies (Nasuni and Rubrik will be considered a plus)
  • Familiarity with major operating systems like Windows and Non-Windows Linux, Unix
  • Understanding of network protocols and how storage systems interact with network infrastructure
  • Proven experience in managing and troubleshooting complex storage and backup environments
  • Strong understanding of data protection, disaster recovery, and business continuity principles
  • Basic understanding of cloud service and computing
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to diagnose and resolve complex storage issues efficiently
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to explain storage concepts and address concerns
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., NetApp Certified Data Administrator, Rubrik Certified Administrator) are a plus
