Job Description:

Full-time Stonemason position available in Lithgow, NSW. Adseal Group is a respected specialist contractor providing high-quality waterproofing, concrete repair, and remedial building services across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. We are currently seeking a skilled Stonemason to join our experienced team. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and restoring stone and masonry surfaces, as well as carrying out associated remedial and finishing works. Your craftsmanship will support the delivery of durable, structurally sound, and visually consistent outcomes across a wide range of projects. The ideal candidate will have strong practical masonry skills, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to producing quality, long-lasting work. If you are a motivated and reliable stonemason looking to contribute to a professional team that values precision and high standards, we encourage you to apply and help us maintain our reputation for dependable service and workmanship.

Job Responsibility:

  • Interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications to identify required materials, accurate measurements, and planned construction or installation procedures
  • Set up and remove low height scaffolding to allow safe stonework at slightly elevated positions
  • Prepare base surfaces by applying moisture-resistant treatments to foundations and laying mortar beds to support stone or block installations
  • Place pre-cut stones or masonry blocks in mortar according to layout plans, and smooth or remove excess mortar to ensure tidy joints
  • Align and level installed masonry work, verifying both vertical (plumb) and horizontal (level) alignment throughout construction
  • Use both power and hand tools to precisely cut, trim, shape and finish stone blocks or slabs adapting pieces to fit irregular shapes or custom designs
  • Perform finishing work such as polishing stone surfaces, shaping edges, and ensuring smooth, accurate surfaces on installed masonry
  • Carry out repair, maintenance or restoration work on existing masonry, stone walls or structures, including replacing damaged blocks, filling gaps or restoring integrity
  • Manufacture custom stone-work including carved elements or inscriptions (e.g. memorials, signage, decorative stone) — measuring, cutting and engraving as needed
  • Install large stone slabs or structural masonry elements (e.g. walls, partitions, feature walls) using stone slabs or big masonry blocks, ensuring structural stability and alignment

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications
  • A minimum of one years’ experience in a similar role
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, drawings and construction specifications
  • Strong understanding of stone types, masonry materials and appropriate bonding or mortar techniques
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in varying site conditions
