Job Description:

Stone Cutter for Swenson Granite Works, a division of Polycor. Responsible for transforming rough dimension stone blocks into high quality, finished landscape stone products. Reports directly to plant supervision. Positions available on first or second shift.

Job Responsibility:

  • Transforming rough dimension stone blocks into high quality, finished landscape stone products
  • ensures dimensions are correct using a tape measure and/or template
  • records production metrics throughout their shift
  • keeps work areas clean by shoveling waste stone material into waste bins
  • occasionally use overhead cranes to move product
  • may perform other duties, such as operation of diamond saws, thermal machines, use of granite production machinery

  • have a positive attitude
  • prior stone fabrication experience is preferred but those with a finishing background in either wood or metal are encouraged to apply
  • ensures dimensions are correct using a tape measure and/or template
  • records production metrics
  • keeps work areas clean
  • occasionally use overhead cranes to move product
  • may perform other duties, such as operation of diamond saws, thermal machines, use of granite production machinery
  • regularly required to stand and frequently required to walk
  • required to reach with hands and arms, push and pull-on conveyors, balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • must regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds
  • uses a 5 to10 pound hammer, in conjunction with a steel chisel, to produce a rock-face finish

  • The day-to-day maintenance and operations of park infrastructure, including buildings, sports pavilions, play areas, and hard landscapes
  • The upkeep, repair, and general maintenance of all infrastructure within parks and open spaces to the highest standard
  • Work full 8-hour days, Monday to Friday, spending the majority of the day on your feet while assisting in coordinating and carrying out maintenance tasks
  • Support the planning and execution of scheduled maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations
  • Carry out any additional duties as required by the line manager
