We are seeking a highly organised and efficient Stewarding Supervisor to join our team in Phu Quoc, Vietnam. As a Stewarding Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and operational efficiency of our kitchen and food service areas. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong leadership skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
Job Responsibility:
Oversee and coordinate the daily activities of the stewarding team, ensuring all tasks are completed to the highest standards
Train and mentor stewarding staff on proper procedures, equipment usage, and chemical handling
Assist in creating and managing staff schedules to ensure optimal coverage
Conduct regular inspections of kitchen areas, dishwashing stations, and equipment to maintain cleanliness and functionality
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including food safety protocols
Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and kitchen equipment
Coordinate with other departments to support smooth kitchen operations and event setups
Implement and maintain quality control measures for cleanliness and sanitation
Troubleshoot and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues
Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures for the stewarding department
Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:
Minimum of two years' recent experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in a high-volume setting
At least one year of experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality industry
Food Safety Level 2 certification or equivalent (essential)
COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) certification or willingness to obtain
Secondary school diploma or equivalent
Fluent English language skills, both written and verbal
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team effectively
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work independently
In-depth knowledge of safe working procedures for hazardous materials and kitchen equipment
Proven track record of achieving and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
Impeccable personal grooming and presentation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
Understanding of inventory management and supply chain processes in a kitchen environment
Familiarity with health and safety regulations specific to food service operations
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 kg when necessary
