The Stewarding Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of all stewards in the Banquet and Restaurant operations. In addition, the supervisor will oversee food runners and make sure they deliver food to assigned areas and assist kitchen to put food order receive away in design area.
Job Responsibility:
Supervise all Stewards ensuring that the kitchen and dishes are always clean. Ensure Food Runners are prepared for each banquet event
Oversee the transport of the food to all outlets, banquet functions and cafeteria
Monitor and assist in the completion of all opening and closing tasks
Ensure trash is removed at appropriate times of and organizes the cleanliness of the trash, recycle and cardboard area
Monitor cleaning needs in all kitchen and service areas
Check cleaning standards of all glassware, china, make sure all silver and copper are polished and in place for dining room service
Double check stewards work assignments for quality, quantity and those procedures are in place
Control breakage and chemical costs
Ensure during and after each meal period the kitchen area is kept clean with sweeping and mopping as needed
Work with department peer trainers to update department STO checklists and assist with onboarding training for new hires
Requirements:
Supervising or Peer Trainer experience preferred
Experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry required, preferably in the back of the house such as Stewarding, Kitchens, Custodial, Culinary or Housekeeping
Knowledge of kitchen cleaning, to include but not limited to all equipment, ceiling, wall, and floor surfaces, and chemicals used
Basic computer skills. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook is required. Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint experience desirable
Basic Food Safety Certification required within 30 days of starting and must be re-certified as needed
Texas Driver’s License with good driving record preferred
Must be 21+ years old due to vehicle insurance requirements
