Job Description:

Steward position at Delta Hotels Sault Ste. Marie Waterfront involving kitchen cleaning, equipment maintenance, dish washing, and maintaining cleanliness standards in food and beverage areas.

Job Responsibility:

Operate cleaning equipment and maintain kitchen areas
Wash and disinfect kitchen tools and equipment
Receive and properly store deliveries
Ensure clean wares are stored appropriately
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and storage areas
Follow safety protocols and report issues
Support team goals and maintain positive working relationships

Requirements:

Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools
Wash and disinfect kitchen and store room areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment
Receive deliveries, store perishables properly, and rotate stock
Use detergent, rinsing, and sanitizing chemicals
Inspect, pull, and stack cleaned items
Rack and spray all racked items with hot water
Sort, soak, and wash/re-wash silverware
Breakdown dirty bus tubs
Empty and maintain trashcans and dumpster area
Clean and mop all areas in assigned departments
Dispose of glass properly
Break down cardboard boxes
Follow all company and safety and security policies
Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries
Complete safety training and certifications
Move, lift, carry, push, pull objects up to 50 pounds
Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
Reach overhead and below knees, bending, twisting, pulling, stooping
