Job Responsibility
Carry out all duties within the Stewarding Department and associated back-of-house areas, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety expected within a 5-star luxury hotel
Cleaning and maintaining operating equipment, china, glassware, kitchen utensils, and work areas while supporting the kitchen team in delivering exceptional service
Preparing and distributing operating equipment for service, functions, inventories, and other operational requirements
Washing, polishing, and storing china, glassware, cutlery, kitchen equipment, and cooking utensils to the required standards
Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment, workstations, floors, walls, ceilings, extraction systems, and food preparation areas before, during, and after service
Emptying bins, sorting waste, and disposing of refuse in accordance with hotel procedures
Cleaning and disinfecting refuse storage areas and waste equipment
Supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods and banquet operations by ensuring a continuous supply of clean equipment
Cleaning and maintaining the staff canteen, replenishing food supplies, beverages, and condiments as required
Reporting damaged equipment or maintenance issues promptly to the Head Chef or appropriate manager
Attending training sessions and departmental meetings as required
Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment while following all Health & Safety and Food Safety procedures
Requirements
Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter, Steward, or within a hospitality environment is preferred
Positive, reliable, and hardworking attitude
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
Commitment to maintaining exceptional hygiene and cleanliness standards
