Job Responsibility

  • Carry out all duties within the Stewarding Department and associated back-of-house areas, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety expected within a 5-star luxury hotel
  • Cleaning and maintaining operating equipment, china, glassware, kitchen utensils, and work areas while supporting the kitchen team in delivering exceptional service
  • Preparing and distributing operating equipment for service, functions, inventories, and other operational requirements
  • Washing, polishing, and storing china, glassware, cutlery, kitchen equipment, and cooking utensils to the required standards
  • Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment, workstations, floors, walls, ceilings, extraction systems, and food preparation areas before, during, and after service
  • Emptying bins, sorting waste, and disposing of refuse in accordance with hotel procedures
  • Cleaning and disinfecting refuse storage areas and waste equipment
  • Supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods and banquet operations by ensuring a continuous supply of clean equipment
  • Cleaning and maintaining the staff canteen, replenishing food supplies, beverages, and condiments as required
  • Reporting damaged equipment or maintenance issues promptly to the Head Chef or appropriate manager
  • Attending training sessions and departmental meetings as required
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment while following all Health & Safety and Food Safety procedures

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter, Steward, or within a hospitality environment is preferred
  • Positive, reliable, and hardworking attitude
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Commitment to maintaining exceptional hygiene and cleanliness standards
