As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will be a central figure ensuring patient safety and surgical readiness, meticulously decontaminating and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment. You will play a vital role in maintaining the highest aseptic standards and preventing infection.
Job Responsibility:
Meticulously decontaminating and sterilizing surgical instruments and equipment
Efficiently inspect and assemble surgical instruments, equipment, trays, and packs according to prescribed protocols
Rotating through decontamination, sterilization, and assembly assignments
Assist in recordkeeping
Monitor equipment
Manage inventory
Report issues
Dispense supplies
Actively prioritize safety, adhering to all health and safety procedures
Requirements:
A high school diploma or GED is required
Graduation from the HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association)
Current certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) by the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) at hire or within six (6) months of date of hire
OR current certification as a Certified Sterile Processing Distribution Technician (CSPDT) by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing
5+ years of progressively responsible experience in Central Services and/or Sterile Processing required
CRCST certification required
