Job Description:

This position is accountable for cleaning, inspecting, assembly, high-level disinfection, and/or sterilization of all instrumentation, and/or medical devices, and flexible endoscopes for the hospital. Responsible for accurately entering data into an instrument tracking system. Follows departmental policies, processes, and regulatory requirements. May assume lead role.

Job Responsibility:

  • Cleaning, inspecting, assembly, high-level disinfection, and/or sterilization of all instrumentation, and/or medical devices, and flexible endoscopes for the hospital
  • Accurately entering data into an instrument tracking system
  • Following departmental policies, processes, and regulatory requirements
  • May assume lead role

Requirements:

  • Minimum two (2) years sterile processing experience preferred
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and knowledge of instrumentation and medical devices
  • Must also demonstrate proficiency in computer skills
  • Prefer working knowledge of hospital equipment and computers
  • High School diploma as accredited by the US Department of Education or GED required
  • (CRCST) Certified Registered Central Service Technician or a (CBSPDT) Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician is required or a CSPDT–CBSPD – Certified Sterile Processing Technician and CRCST Certified Registered Central Service Technician – required within 12 months of hire or transfer into position is required
