Job Description:

As our Registered Nurse at CHI St. Vincent in Stepdown Unit, you will help patients transitioning from intensive care achieve optimal health and independence so they can return home safely and confidently.

Job Responsibility:

  • Providing direct patient care, including medication administration, monitoring vital signs, and managing complex patient needs
  • Collaborating effectively with physicians, other healthcare providers, and patients and their families
  • Checking patients' health status daily and making note of any changes or concerns
  • Caring for multiple patients throughout the same shift, often varying in age and condition
  • Monitoring patients with life-saving medical equipment such as IVs, catheters, feeding tubes and ventilators
  • Providing a comfortable and secure environment for the patient while acting as their advocate

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse: AR, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 12 - months
  • Previous step down and/or ICU experience for PRN roles
