Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Safety Steward to join our team on a contract basis in Jodagadia, Odisha, India. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of safety protocols within the steel industry and a proven ability to maintain a secure working environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Implement and enforce all safety regulations and procedures within the steel plant
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance
  • Document safety observations, incidents, and near misses accurately
  • Create detailed safety reports using tools like JIRA and standard report formats
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards including JHA (Job Hazard Analysis) procedures
  • Deliver safety training and toolbox talks to site personnel
  • Investigate safety incidents and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Maintain safety documentation and records in an organized manner
  • Promote a strong safety culture throughout the worksite
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of safety initiatives

Requirements:

  • Diploma in a relevant field
  • Minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 8 years of experience in a safety role, preferably within the steel industry
  • Proficiency in safety procedures and best practices
  • Strong skills in documentation and report creation
  • Familiarity with JIRA for reporting and tracking
  • Ability to conduct and document Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs)
  • Excellent observational and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Jodagadia, Odisha, India
