Job Description:

We are currently recruiting an experienced Steel Fixer to join our production team at our Skelmersdale site. This is a permanent opportunity for a skilled individual with experience working with reinforcement steel in a precast or construction environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Cut, bend, and fix reinforcement steel (rebar and mesh) in accordance with drawings and specifications
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and reinforcement schedules accurately
  • Assemble steel cages and reinforcement frameworks for precast concrete units
  • Secure steel using tying wire, clips, and other fixing methods
  • Work safely around cranes, lifting equipment, and heavy materials
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working area at all times
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, risk assessments, and method statements
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and production teams to meet daily targets and deadlines

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Steel Fixer within construction or precast concrete is essential
  • Ability to read and understand reinforcement drawings
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools relevant to steel fixing
  • Good awareness of manual handling and safe lifting practices
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Must have the right to work in the UK
