Job Description:

We are looking for experienced Steel Fixers to join several major civil engineering projects across the West Midlands. You will be working on high-spec infrastructure, including reinforced concrete (RC) frames, bridge abutments, and retaining walls.

Job Responsibility:

  • Reading & Interpreting: Accurately following reinforcement drawings and bending schedules
  • Setting Out: Positioning and securing steel bars and mesh according to engineering specifications
  • Fixing: Utilizing tying wire or secondary welding to secure structures
  • Quality Control: Ensuring all work meets strict safety and structural standards prior to concrete pours
  • Collaboration: Working closely with the shuttering carpentry and concrete gangs to hit project milestones

Requirements:

  • CSCS Card: Valid Blue (Skilled Worker) card is essential
  • Experience: Proven track record in civil engineering or heavy industrial environments
  • Tools: Must have your own full PPE and standard fixing tools (Nips, belt, etc.)
  • Reliability: Strong work ethic and punctuality are non-negotiable
  • Safety First: A comprehensive understanding of site health and safety protocols
